About Ali Orokzai

Ali Orokzai is a filmmaker. His films feature positive messages told through fresh and unique perspectives, connecting with audiences around the world. Born on January 9th in Kabul, Afghanistan, Ali was first introduced to the illustrious world of cinema at an early age by his father, respected filmmaker Saeed Orokzai, known for Mardara Qawl Ast (Men Keep Their Promise), Khakestar (Ash), and Safar (Journey). He studied film at an American university, which gave him the tools to jumpstart his career as a director, actor, and producer. Most notably, directing Hadar (No Purpose), Stranger, and Halfway—gaining recognition through the film festival circuit. Ali has been awarded several accolades for his cinematic accomplishments. Receiving Best Young Director and Best Drama Short Film for his film Halfway, by the FICOCC Five Continents International Film Festival. Including an official selection from the 8th American Golden Picture IFF. He was a finalist in the Global Music Awards for his music video, Red, Black & White. He was also showcased in the annual Berlin Flash Film Festival for The Screen in the Super Short Smartphone category. Plus producing animated shorts, including, Feelings and With Blink of an Eye. In addition to his work behind the camera, Ali has starred in the World Awards of Merit feature Why?, including films Yesterday and Taboo. Ali continues to develop new and exciting film projects.
